How to Regrow Green Onions in Water

One of the great things about nature is its ability to reproduce! Here’s how to regrow green onions in water to get a never-ending supply of green and perky scallions!

All you need is green onion chopped down to their roots, water, and a windowsill to help them grow! No green thumb required! Pinky swear!

Day 1

After you use the stalks of your green onion, set the white bulbs with roots in a small glass of water. Use enough water to cover the bulbs of the onion. Place the glass or jar in a sunny spot and watch them grow! Change the water daily.

Day 2

I woke up early to check on my “babies” and they grew a smidgen overnight! They are well on their way… (BTW, you don’t need to put a rubberband around them. I did that for ease of photographing)

Chop ’em off and regrow them again–it’s your own ongoing food supply. These babies are like the Energizer bunny…they just keep growing and growing and growing.
