You can’t sit and look at each other because it will be too dark. You can’t read. You can’t get warm. You can’t cook. What to do?

I’m sure you can see why it’s necessary to prepare for such emergencies; especially if you have no source of power. And if you live in a climate of extreme cold, then you’ll need a source of heat.

Store an Adequate Supply for Cooking and Heating:

Obtain flashlights and batteries for 72-hour kits

Consider obtaining a gas generator, if budget allows
