To me, nothing is more comforting than a piece of pie–it plain and simply beats a piece of cake in my book.

I remember vividly when I was a teenager and mom would make cheesecake! Mom makes thee best pies and my younger brother and I fell in love with her cheesecake. You didn’t have to twist my arm to eat it. No siree. No plugging the nose. No choking it down. It simply glided off my tongue right down my throat and into my tummy. I savored every bite. I’m still trying to master her touch. This no-bake cheesecake recipe comes close.

Tie creamy sweet cream cheese in with CHOCOLATE and you have yourself a dam delicious no bake cheesecake (whoops, I mean “darn”)! The creamy sweet filing in a wonderful chocolate cookie crumb crust; topped with a web of chocolate will satisfy the chocolate lover in you!

To make the web:

Melt butter and chocolate chips together in the microwave:

Pour the melted chocolate in a Ziploc bag and slit a tiny hole in the corner and pipe it in circles about 1 inch apart:

Pour chocolate in an enclosed plastic bag, cut the corner and pipe in circular motion on top of cheesecake

Using a toothpick, lightly drag it through the chocolate rounds like you are cutting the pie:

That’s it! Pretty simple, ay? Enjoy!

Prep time
Total time
Recipe type: Dessert
Serves: 6-8 slices
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 16 ounces light cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 chocolate crumb crust (8 or 9-inches in diameter)
  • 2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoons butter
  1. In a small saucepan of cold water sprinkle in gelatin and let sit for about one minute. Turn stove onto medium heat and stir until gelatin dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, cream together cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Mix in heavy cream, gelatin mixture and vanilla and continue beating until smooth and creamy. Pour into prepared crust. Lightly tap on counter a couple of times to smooth out the top.
  3. In a small bowl, add chocolate chips and butter and melt in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until completely melted; stir.
  4. Pour chocolate into a resealable plastic bag and cut a small hole in the corner of the bag. Pipe evenly spaced circles about 1/2-inch apart over the filling.
  5. Using a toothpick, gently pull it from the center of the inner circle toward the outer edge. Wipe toothpick clean and repeat pattern to shape a web.
  6. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours or overnight before cutting.
