Orange Julicious

I really need to vent today….

Orange-Julius(586x776)-frame

We had an ice storm. I had no idea. How? Because I was barricaded in my house working; not even looking outside; not listening to the news. Totally clueless. But apparently we had an ice storm. Next thing I know, I hear this moaning and groaning coming from Jr. Chef. He went outside to warm up his car and swoosh…he fell flat on his back, hit his head and slid down the stairs. I didn’t know this happened until he crawled back into the house moaning and groaning. I rushed to him trying to be an all-concerned mother when he rebuffs me and starts yelling. Yelling that it is pure ice out there, that he broke his necklace, and that his keys flew off into oblivion. He’s ranting as if it is my fault. I said as much when he ranted that I haven’t even put ice melt on it yet and he injured himself because of it, blah-blah-blah. Like I’M to blame? Parents certainly are punching bags, aren’t they? Anyway, like I’ve been outside to know that it’s been freezing ice on our porch and driveway? Like I have ESP with the weather man or something? I just didn’t get it. Now, I get that he’s in pain. I get that he’s frustrated with himself. I get that he’s mad at the stairs and the ice and whatever. But what I don’t understand is that it is my fault. Anyway…he rebuffed my concern and went outside again only to slip and fall on the driveway. Poor guy. He was cussing and mumbling all the way out to his car. I sighed. I did a little meditation to calm myself down…I might have sat on the floor, legs crossed, hands on knees, eyes closed; thinking good thoughts.

So how am I going to relate this to the Orange Julicious? Hmmmm, I know….ICE! There’s ice and other delish-ee-o-so’s in this beverage.

I’ve been craving yellow squash lately…Remember when I made this Nutty Carrot Squash Cake? Ya. You know what I’m talking about then. So I’m thinking this Orange Julicious might do the trick to curb my yellow squash craving. What does this juice have to do with yellow summer squash? It’s in the juice, silly! And you don’t even taste the squash. I just taste pure, thick Orange Julius.

I’m trying to get back to my roots–eating lots of fruits and veggies. I’ve been making smoothies every morning and my body is loving it. I’ve been making the Green Monster smoothie, the Protein Berry smoothie, and the Nutella Chocolate Smoothie. All amazing. All good for you. All filling. Now I found another new love…Orange Julicious.

I made this juice in my commercial blender, so I’m not sure how it will work for you in a regular blender. If you make it in a regular blender, let me know. I’d like to know how it works out.

  1. Hey I have a Blendtec and I drink a smoothie every morning. Although I wish the rest of the day I make as good of choices that I do in the morning. But I don’t. Which is why I’m a little fluffy around the edges. Gonna try this fo sho!
