Sizzling Salsa

http://www.dreamstime.com/-image15399543My sister went to a party and a gal brought some salsa that tasted exactly like this one and everyone wanted the recipe. She wouldn’t give out the “secret” recipe because she bottles it and sells it at Wild Oats. So, the “secret” is out; save some money and make it at home!

Ingredients

  • 2-3 cans Mexican stewed tomatoes (depending on how hot you want it) You can find them in the canned tomato aisle or Mexican food aisle.
  • 6-7 average Serrano peppers (I would start with 4 peppers first, because 6 or 7 is pretty hot)
  • 1 bunch of fresh cilantro (rip off the leafs and place in blender)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 white onion
  • 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice or 1 fresh lime, squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Puree the stewed tomatoes in a blender; set aside in a bowl
  2. Finely chop the peppers, cilantro, garlic, and onion and place in the blender (if you have a food processor, that works the best)
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and puree in the blender
  4. Combine and stir all ingredients in a bowl and have at it!

Your salsa will be the hit of the party! People literally will drink this stuff!
